Ramiz Raja, a commentator and one who represented the national team in the 1992 World Cup, said that whenever a match was lost in the 1992 World Cup, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s qawwalis were heard from the dressing room.

In his video message on the day of Pakistan Day parade, Ramiz Raja said that the 1992 World Cup is one of the golden moments in the history of Pakistan’s sports. “The joy that our victory brought to the nation was visible.”

“It was a big event and we learned a lot from it. Our team was small but the goal was big. The goal of our victory was to build a hospital,” he said, recalling the days of the World Cup.

Ramiz Raja said that when there was a defeat in the matches, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s qawwali ‘Allah Hu’ used to resound through the dressing room.

“Our leadership was amazing, which made a small team a world champion,” he said.

March 25 is considered a golden and memorable day for all Pakistanis and especially for cricket and cricket fans as Pakistan performed brilliantly in the match against England in 1992 and became the world cricket champions on that day.
