The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday postponed the sixth edition of the country’s biggest cricket event Pakistan Super League with immediate effect due to the rising number of coronavirus.  As soon as the event was called off by Cricket Board,  social media was flooded with flustering memes with the hashtag PSL 6 trending top on Twitter.

Here is how Twitter reacted:

Prior to the announcement, a release from the PCB stated that three more players tested positive for the dreaded virus.

The official release also stated that the unnamed players were not part of the double-header games.

It is worth mentioning here that a total of 14 games had taken place in the competition which started on February 20. The tournament had to be postponed last year too just before the playoffs in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak. The remaining matches were later held in November.

Moreover, the PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan and Babar Hamid, Director – Commercial are set to hold a press conference to give more updates on the postponement. The conference will be streamed live on the PCB YouTube Channel.
