Andre Russell and Shakib Al Hasan are among the big names who will sign up as replacements for the rest of PSL in 2021, PCB confirmed on Tuesday (April 27th).
All six franchises have selected substitute players abroad through an online trial, and the tournament is scheduled to resume on June 1.
Russell, one of the most sought-after players in T20, will replace Tom Banton in the Quetta Gladiators, while Shakib Al Hasan will join Lahore Qalandars as a replacement for Rashid Khan. New Zealand player Martin Guptill has been chosen by Karachi Kings to replace Colin Ingram, the South African Batsman.
The Australian quartet Usman Khawaja, Joe Burns, James Faulkner, Callum Ferguson were among 19 musicians chosen as substitutes. Peshawar Zalmi, Gladiators, and Islamabad United have each booked a choice and will present their names later.
Earlier this year, in March, the tournament was postponed after 14 Matches, due to the increase in the number of Covid-19 positive cases.
The remaining 20 matches will be resumed on June 1 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
