English cricketer Moeen Ali can’t wait to visit Pakistan again
England cricketer Moeen Ali is impatiently waiting to tour Pakistan next year,...
English all-rounder Moeen Ali has received immense support from fellow cricketers and fans after a Bangladeshi-Swedish author Taslima Nasreen used tactless remarks against him in her tweet.
Taslima Nasreen had said in her tweet, “If Moeen Ali were not stuck with cricket, he would have gone to Syria to join ISIS.”
However, the tweet was deleted after some hours following extreme widespread flak by other English cricketers and netizens.

Later, reacting to the criticism, the author clarified her remarks in another tweet.
“Haters know very well that my Moeen Ali tweet was sarcastic. But they made that an issue to humiliate me because I try to secularize Muslim society & I oppose Islamic fanaticism. One of the greatest tragedies of humankind is pro-women leftists support anti-women Islamists,” she wrote.

To which she has garnered more backlash as the teammates are not okay with her “sarcastic remarks”.
Jofra Archer lambasted her to delete the tweet as it was in no way funny or sarcastic.
“Sarcastic ? No one is laughing , not even yourself , the least you can do is delete the tweet,” he said.

Also, Saqib Mahmood claimed that she has a sick sense of humour.

The comment was made on Moeen Ali’s request to his IPL team Chennai Super Kings’ management to remove the team’s sponsor’s logo from his jersey. The logo was for a liquor company and Ali said it damages his religious viewpoints.
However, his request was accepted.
It is pertinent to mention here that Taslima Nasreen has provoked controversies in the past as well. She fled Bangladesh in 1994 after receiving death threats over her critique of Islam.
