Earlier, Babar Azam had challenged the Sessions Court’s decision to file a case against him, in the Lahore High Court.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Hameza Mukhtar had been made parties in Babar Azam’s petition.
The petition states that Babar Azam is the captain of the national cricket team and one of the best players, he has set many international records.
The petition said that the Sessions Court has ordered to register a case under the Cyber Crimes Act.
In his petition, Babar Azam said that in the light of the decisions of the Supreme Court, the Justice of the Peace is not bound to order the registration of the case.
He asked the High Court to quash the decision of the trial court to register the case and suspend the decision till the final decision of the petition.
Previously, the Lahore High Court (LHC) had instructed to file an FIR against the Pakistan cricket team’s captain Babar Azam for sexually harassing Hameza Mukhtar.
The LHC judge has heard a petition filed by Akhtar, who had supposedly accused Babar Azam of sexual harassment.
According to the details, the ‘termed’ victim had submitted an application against unknown callers for threatening, blackmailing and sending immoral messages to her.
