Pakistan will take on the reigning World T20 champions West Indies in the first of the four T20Is in Barbados on Wednesday.

Both the Men-in-Green and the Caribbean giants have a reputation of being competent sides in the shortest format of the game.

So far, the Green Caps have dominated the hosts in T20Is, maintaining a record of 11-3 in the 14 encounters between them.

Though the 2009 World T20 champions may be feeling confident due to their record, these numbers will not hold much of significance in the contest.

Pakistan looked off-colour in the three-match T20I series against England and lost it by 2-1. In contrast, Windies, with all their star players back in the side, looked in supreme form as they defeated Australia 4-1 in the five-match series.

Interestingly, both the teams always live up to their tags of being ‘unpredictable’ and it is tough to predict who will come on top.

Having said that, keeping the recent performance of the Windies in view, they are the favourites to better Pakistan.

Players to watch out for:

Hasan Ali:

Star pacer Hasan Ali has to play a key role if Pakistan want to do well against a formidable team like West Indies. Hasan, since his return, has been impressive with the ball and his blitz down the batting order has come in handy for the team as well. Considering the firepower of the West Indies batting line, the right-arm pacer will have to lead the pack with his skill and experience.

Hayden Walsh:

Hayden Walsh Jr can be instrumental against Pakistan for West Indies. The 29-year-old, who made his international debut for the USA before playing for his native country, was invincible against the mighty Kangaroos, emerging as the highest wicket-taker in the series with 12 scalps at an economy rate of 7.00.
