Ehsan Mani refuses his tenure extension as PCB’s chairman
The chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ehsan Mani has on Thursday refused to prolong his tenure extension as the board’s chairman.
Ehsan Mani, in his statement, said that he would not like to further continue as the chairman of PCB.
According to sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan has asked Mani to continue until he makes any decision.
Earlier on Monday, the Premier held separate meetings with Mani and former Test skipper, Ramiz Raja, amid speculations over the appointment of the next PCB chairman.
However, in Tuesday’s meeting Mani discussed the upcoming cricket series, which shows he will continue for some time, sources added.
Sources further said that the prime minister wanted to replace EhsanMani with Ramiz Raja.
In his statement, Mani refused to say much in his discussions with the prime minister. “I will not say anything about [the] meeting, you are referring to.”
However, there is no indication on when a decision would be taken, PM Khan was expected to put forward his two nominations, including Ramiz Raja by August 25. After that, the board of governors will hold a vote to pick the chairman.
