The two-match T20I series between Pakistan and England has been shifted from Karachi to Rawalpindi due to operational and logistical reasons, revealed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday.

Both English men and women cricket teams will land in Islamabad on October 9 and the men’s team will depart for Dubai on October 15 to participate in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021.

Meanwhile, Heather Knight’s side will play three ODIs on October 17, 19 and 21 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan is delighted about the defending champions’ first tour to Pakistan in 16 years and the women’s side first-ever tour to Pakistan.

“We are thrilled to welcome both the England men’s team for what will be their first tour to Pakistan since 2005 and the England women’s team, who will be touring Pakistan for the first time,” said Khan.

The two 20-overs games which were to be played in the National Stadium Karachi on 14 and 15 October have now been rescheduled and will be played on October 13 and 14 in the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

“In addition to this home series, England will tour Pakistan in the last quarter of 2022 for white-ball and ICC World Test Championship games,” PCB Chief Executive added.
