Antonio Conte, manager of Tottenham Hotspur, has dismissed reports linking him with the manager’s post at Paris Saint-Germain as “fake news.”

Conte was rumored to be in the running to succeed Mauricio Pochettino as manager of the Paris Saint-Germain.

“I think it’s great that other clubs value my work,” Conte stated.

“However, there is one thing. To be honest, I don’t enjoy it when people try to make up news just to speak or cause difficulties.”

“This is neither appropriate nor fair for me – or for the clubs concerned,” Conte continued.

“This situation makes me smile, but I believe that those who wish to tell a story like this should show respect for all of the persons involved in the issue rather than fabricate information and tell a lot of lies.”

In November, Conte took over as Spurs manager from Nuno Espirito Santo, and he signed a contract that runs through the summer of 2023.

Tottenham is in fifth place in the Premier League, two points behind Arsenal, and is chasing a top-four finish that would guarantee Champions League entry.

On Sunday (1400 GMT), they face Leicester City, while the Gunners face West Ham (1630 GMT) later that day.

“We have five games left,” Conte said. “At the end of the season, I will speak with my club in private and see what the best answer is.”
