Following an alleged attack on German commentators during West Ham’s 2-1 defeat by Eintracht Frankfurt, the club said “two offenders have been identified.”

The commentators’ headsets were pulled off and thrown on the floor at London Stadium on Thursday, according to German local news.

“Along with continuing our own investigation, in keeping with our zero-tolerance attitude, the details of the offenders have also been provided onto the police, who will now begin their own inquiry,” a Hammers official stated.

The incident occurred after Michail Antonio of West Ham equalized in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final.

The journalists, who worked for the German network ARD, were commenting from the back row of the media section, which was surrounded by supporters.

“If found guilty, the perpetrators will be issued an indefinite ban and will not be permitted to attend London Stadium or travel with the club,” the West Ham official stated.

“This type of behavior is unacceptable at West Ham United and will not be accepted.”
