Novak Djokovic on Monday extended his reign at the top of the ATP rankings to 370 weeks, while Rafael Nadal fell to fifth place.
The Spaniard was knocked out of the Italian Open in the last 16 by Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece, who advanced all the way to the final before being defeated in straight sets by Djokovic.
The Serb has now spent 60 weeks longer at number one than the next man on the list, Roger Federer, who won the Italian Open for the sixth time (310). With 209 career wins, Nadal ranks sixth all-time.
Djokovic is guaranteed top seeding in Roland Garros, which begins on Sunday, and will hold the position for at least another two weeks.
After reaching the semi-finals in Rome, Norwegian Casper Ruud moves up two places to seventh, while Italian Matteo Berrettini, who had surgery on his right hand at the end of March and will miss the French Open, moves down.
