Martinez was cited as saying, “De Bruyne has provided enough, and Carrasco has given enough.” “After a three-month layoff, Meunier returned to play two games in a row. We can’t compel someone to do anything.”
De Bruyne, who had been hesitant to play in the Nations League after his time with Manchester City, stated that he would have been pleased to continue.
“I’ve played three games totaling about 90 minutes. Physically, I’m well, and I would have like to play the final game against Poland, but the coach made the decision,” he told the press.

De Bruyne departs after Belgium let Wales off the hook in Cardiff, denying them the chance to win.
“It is a pity about the late equalizer,” De Bruyne added. “We were in command at the beginning of the second half, but then we forgot to play football. But with all the changes in the team, it was not the worst performance.”
“We lacked rhythm and all the players were fatigued, having already played many matches.”
Martinez was enraged by Brennan Johnson’s late goal, which was initially deemed offside but then awarded after a lengthy VAR review.
