Madrid has formally communicated an interest in facilitating a Formula One race, the city’s territorial government declared on Thursday.

Despite the fact that there is no Formula One-grade tracks in Madrid and Spain as of now has a race in Barcelona, which has an agreement until 2026, the Spanish capital accepts it can open discussions with Formula One coordinators, Liberty Media, about facilitating a race.

“I might want to affirm our obligation to you and to this undertaking, as well as our readiness to consent to the suitable arrangements to advance the race and deal an extraordinary wearing and diversion scene,” neighborhood government bureau serve Enrique Lopez wrote in a letter to F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali.
