Utah Jazz coach Quin Snyder resigned from his position earlier this week after eight seasons in charge.  He believed the Jazz needed a stance in the locker room.

Snyder agreed to sign with the Jazz leading up to the 2014-2015 season. The Jazz failed to make the playoffs in both of his first two seasons as head coach, finishing third in their division.

Finally, under Snyder’s management, the Jazz made the playoffs in 2016-2017 after finishing 51-31 in the regular season. Utah made it past the first round but lost in the Western Conference semifinals.

Snyder and the Jazz made the playoffs for the next five seasons. Unfortunately, they were never able to advance past the second round. With two more second-round losses and three first-round exits, including this season, the Jazz have yet to reach the NBA’s ultimate under Snyder’s management.

While his tenure in Utah Jazz is regarded as successful, Snyder will leave on his own terms, forcing the Jazz into a head coaching search that began this week.

As previously stated, the Philadelphia 76ers presently does not have any assistants in connection for the Utah position. A former Sixers coach, however, has been added to the crowd.

According to private TV channel, the Uttah Jazz have been granted permission to interview Johnnie Bryant of the New York Knicks, Will Hardy of the Boston Celtics, Charles Lee of the Milwaukee Bucks, and Joe Mazzulla of the Boston Celtics. They’ll also look at two of their own assistants, Alex Jensen and Lamar Skeeter.

The Jazz also requested permission on Wednesday to bring in Toronto Raptors assistant Adrian Griffin and Phoenix Suns assistant Kevin Young, both of whom previously coached in Philadelphia.

Young made his NBA debut in 2013 at the NBA G League level. He worked as an assistant for the Delaware Blue Coats before joining the Sixers organization (formerly known as the Delaware 87ers). Young was named head coach in 2014 and remained in that position until 2017.

Young was encouraged to Brett Brown’s bench on the Sixers in 2017. He intended to stay in Philadelphia until 2020. That’s when Monty Williams called to welcome him to join the Suns. Young is now expected to be tested by the Jazz.
