Bismah Maroof-led team will depart for Belfast in the early hours of Tuesday after their training camp for the tri-series in Ireland and the Commonwealth Games completed on Saturday (July 12).
The team tried to maximize their time during the training camp by practicing various T20 cricket skills during impromptu drills, net sessions, and scenario-based games.
Under the direction of the support staff, led by head coach David Hemp, the team worked hard on fielding and physical preparation in addition to bowling and batting drills and practice.
“The tri-series in Ireland gives us a fantastic opportunity to acclimate to the circumstances prior to the Commonwealth Games,” according to Captain Bismah Maroof.
“Young players like Tuba Hassan, Ayesha Naseem, and Fatima Sana bring true energy, talent, and skill to our team. These players are the ones of the future, and this tour is a great chance for them to leave a lasting impact.”
“Since we need to defeat the top teams in order to win at the Commonwealth Games, we would accept the challenge of playing formidable opponents. Our goal would be to achieve success,” she added.
On July 16, Australia and Pakistan will square off in the opening game of the Tri-Nation Women’s T20I Series at the Bready Cricket Club.
Pakistan will play both Australia and Ireland twice, with the top two teams moving on to the championship game. The Bready Cricket Club will host each of the seven tournament games.
At the Birmingham Edgbaston Stadium, there will be cricket matches taking place during the Games.
The Commonwealth cricket matches are to be held at Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham.
