The Austrian great Albin Ouschan avenged his loss against American Shan Van Boening in the World Pool Championship final by defeating him 13-11 in the inaugural European Open Pool Championship final.

Ouschan maintained his composure to defeat van Boening 13-11 in the Best of 25 racks in a thrilling final.

After Van Boening’s dry break at 10-10, Albin Ouschan was able to clear the table and move within two racks of making history.

Van Boening, on the other hand, did not hold back and took the opportunity to tie the score at 11-11 after Ouschan left the two close to the pocket during a deep safety struggle.

The top-ranked pool player then made a critical blunder in the 23rd rack, as his safety left him gutted and Ouschan, who did well to place the ball on the hill at 12-11, in possession of the cue ball.

When Van Boening produced a brilliant bank shot to make three, it appeared as though the dramatic final had taken a severe turn and was headed for a hill-hill situation. However, a costly error on the five gave Ouschan the opportunity to secure a dramatic 13-11 triumph.
