KPL 2022: Overseas Warriors beat the Mirpur Royals by 15 runs thanks to a hundred by their captain, Asad Shafiq, and a strong showing by their bowlers in the tenth match of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) 2022 at Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium.

Warriors’ captain put them in to bat, which paid off quickly when leg spinner Abrar Ahmed caught opener Umar Zeeshan when he had a low score.

Asad Shafiq took over as captain, and from then on, he beat the Royals all over the park. Shafiq scored a great hundred, but he was out on 112 after 60 balls, with 16 fours and three sixes.

In the middle order, Azam Khan and Kamran Ghulam each made 23 and 24 runs to help. With only two runs scored against him and only nine runs scored, Abrar Ahmed did a great job. Salman Irshad also took out two batsmen, but he was a bit pricey.

After Ali Imran’s team lost their first wicket, Mirpur Royals were doing well (2). But Haris Sohail and Hasan Nawaz worked together to score 61 runs before Hasan Nawaz was out on 56.

Then, Royals’ captain Shoaib Malik walked up to bat and tried to steady the ship. However, he was run out on seven, and Haris Sohail was also run out on 55. This put Royals in a bad position.

At this point, based on the D/L method, they were ahead of the Warriors, but neither the weather nor the bowlers let them pass.

Warriors’ bowlers Imran Randhawa (25) and Sohail Khan (36), who both had great spells, made it hard for Royals to win by more than 15 runs.
