Before the end of this year, Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo will agree to a £175 million per year contract with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, according to Marca.
Ronaldo and United mutually decided to cancel their contract two days before Portugal’s FIFA World Cup 2022 campaign got underway, apparently as a result of the star footballer’s explosive chat with Piers Morgan.
For trying to eject him, Ronaldo claimed he felt “betrayed” by club members, and Ten Hag allegedly treated him disrespectfully.
During the FIFA World Cup 2022, Ronaldo, who is currently in Dubai, was linked with the Saudi Arabian club but he chose not to comment. According to Marca, Al Nassr has made Ronaldo, 37, an incredible offer of £175 million a year in hopes of signing him before the end of this year.
He will remain with the Saudi Arabian club till at least 2025 thanks to the lucrative contract, which might be extended. The Portugal international declined a transfer to Saudi Arabia last summer, but he now seems destined to make the switch after failing to receive any significant interest from Europe’s elite teams.
Al Nassr, one of Saudi Arabia’s most successful clubs, has won the top division nine times, with their most recent triumph coming in 2019.
With Ronaldo substituting in the second half to try and turn the tide for his country, Portugal’s FIFA World Cup 2022 run came to an end in the quarterfinals against Morocco by a score of 1-0.
Goncalo Ramos, who notched a hat-trick and provided an assist for another, took his position in the starting lineup for the 6-1 triumph over Switzerland in the round of 16.
