Robin Uthappa announces retirement from International cricket
Robin Uthappa has retired from all forms of international and Indian cricket....
Robin Uthappa ,Indian cricket legend, who left the national team and Indian cricket in September, will play for the Dubai Capitals in the first season of the International League T20 (ILT20).
The leagues begins in the United Arab Emirates in January. Capitals, one of the six franchises in the Emirates Cricket Board-sanctioned ILT20, made a direct signing of Robin Uthappa
Uthappa, who is now 37 years old, is one of the first prominent Indian cricketers to retire from the national team in order to pursue a career in Twenty20 cricket in other countries.
Uthappa claimed that he intended to participate in international T20 tournaments while being an active player in Indian domestic cricket and the IPL, but that he was prevented from doing so by BCCI regulations.
Uthappa has long wanted to play in other tournaments like The Hundred, the Caribbean Premier League, and the Big Bash League, and now that he has retired from international and Indian cricket he now has the opportunity to do so.
