Australia won the second T20I against Pakistan in Hobart by eight wickets to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the three-match women’s series.

Pakistan chose to bat first but could only manage 96-7 in the allowed 20 overs.

Pakistan’s opener Muneeba Ali led the team in scoring with a 43-ball 33 that included four fours. On 29 off 28 balls, with the help of two fours, skipper Bismah Maroof returned unbeaten.

Alana King, a leg-spinner for Australia, secured two wickets for 10 runs in just two overs.

With eight wickets remaining in the 13th over of their reply, the hosts reached their goal. With 46 off 29 balls with six fours and a six in her, Australia’s top scorer was wicketkeeper-batter Beth Mooney.

Nida Dar, a Pakistani off-spinner, finished the game with game stats of two for 27 from four overs. It should be mentioned that Australia also triumphed by eight wickets in the first T20I of the series.

During the current tour, Pakistan was also thoroughly defeated by the home team in a three-match ODI series.

At the Manuka Oval in Canberra on January 29, Pakistan and Australia will now play in the third and final T20I of the series.
