Babar Azam, captain of the Pakistan cricket team, is up for ICC Player of the Month in December.

As batting ruled dominant, three countries are represented on the shortlist for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month Award for December 2022.

The Pakistan captain is still in good form with the bat. He did well against England and at the start of the series against New Zealand.

Babar showed his consistency by scoring runs in all four Tests he played. He made two hundreds and three fifties in eight hits, even though he was captain.

Harry Brook has had a great first year of Test cricket. He was given the freedom to attack in the middle order, which helped England win a famous Test series in Pakistan.

Brook scored big hundreds in all three of England’s wins on the tour, and he ended the month with 468 runs at an incredible average of 93.60.

The 23-year-old right-hander had only played two Tests before the first one in Rawalpindi, but the way he played made him look like an experienced player.

In a blitz of Pakistan’s attack, the No. 5 scored 153 runs in just 116 deliveries. However, this wasn’t enough to stop England, which went on to score 657 runs at a run rate of 6.50. He followed up that knock with a score of 87 (65 runs) in the second innings, and his opponents didn’t get much of a break in games two and three.

Brook then made a very important century in the second innings of the second Test in Multan. He then went on to make another hundred in Karachi, this time with eight fours and three sixes, but still at a very good strike rate of 74. Brook was named Player of the Series because of how well he played.

Travis Head’s aggressive style of batting is similar to Brook’s, and he has a knack for speeding things up. His work at No. 5 in the order shows in the ICC Men’s MRF Tyres Player Rankings, where he is ranked fourth.

Head scored 455 runs at an average of 91 with one century in Australia’s four Tests during the month. He also helped the team win its first Test against the West Indies by taking two wickets.

In the first game, he was one run short of a century, but he didn’t let that bother him. Instead, he made 175 runs on his home ground in just 219 balls, hitting 20 fours. He went on to score two fifties in the first two Tests against South Africa, helping his team get 24 World Test Championship points and a 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Head will definitely be a key part of Australia’s run to the World Test Championship final later in 2023.
