The head coach of Australia, Andrew McDonald, said on Sunday that he doesn’t think a match practise is necessary before Australia’s four-match Test series against India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in February-March.

Australia had practised on fields in Melbourne before arriving in Pakistan to play in the series, which they won by a score of 1-0, during their trip of that nation last year. Before touring India and beginning the series on February 9 in Nagpur, it is anticipated that Australian players will attend a three-day camp in Sydney.

In 2017, Australia spent 10 days practising on specially created pitches at the ICC school in Dubai before travelling to India for nine days of practise leading up to the first Test, which they won. But after that, Virat Kohli-led India rallied from a deficit to claim a 2-1 series victory.

“We’ve played a no-tour game in the recent series before leaving on international trips. We believe that we don’t necessarily require that match practise. A week prior to the opening game, we will travel to India. Regarding the preparation, we didn’t want to push for too long.”

“However, we would rather use a centre wicket in India for some scenario training, and we believe that because this experienced team has already visited the area, they will be more quickly able to adjust to the conditions. In our own circumstances, we can be imaginative.”

“With the Pakistan build-up in Melbourne, we’ve done it before. cleaning the wickets. suited for the job. working with the neighbourhood groundskeepers who are a big help to us around the nation. Without necessarily playing a practise game, we believe we can come as near as feasible “According to “The Sydney Morning Herald,” McDonald said.

McDonald made a suggestion that Australia would travel to India with a larger team because to concerns about the health of Mitchell Starc, a left-arm pace spearhead, and Cameron Green, a fast-bowling all-arounder. “Yes, given the time frames I’ve been given, I’m sure Green will be in shape. Making sure we can be innovative with his training to ensure his body is in good shape will be the challenge.”

However, “we feel as though we feel as though we’re certain he’ll be ready for that first Test match with the medical team that we feel has done an amazing job in the last game.” Batters Matthew Renshaw and Peter Handscomb, as well as spinners Mitchell Swepson and Todd Murphy, are additional candidates for the India tour. ”

When it comes to Test cricket, Matt Renshaw has had some success in the past. There is another player returning to the Test fold that Pete Handscomb, without a question, would feel unlucky not to be in the debate for Sydney.”

Marcus Harris is also here. Therefore, we believe we have test experience at that depth. Some would argue that those have a little older age distribution and perhaps fewer children, but we believe that the exposure is valuable. There are many inspiring tales of people who tried their hand at Test cricket, left the game, then returned and had great success.”

“With his recent performances, Todd is putting himself forward. In the past, Mitch Swepson had good results in the subcontinent. If that makes sense, there are situations when the second spinner isn’t always the greatest next spinner. It’s the one that enhances what you already have “McDonald concluded.
