Cesar Azpilicueta, a seasoned Chelsea player, thinks that the English Premier League is getting more competitive with time.

Azpilicueta is one of six Chelsea players to make 500 appearances for the team, which is a remarkable accomplishment.

The defender, who has been with the team for more than ten years, feels that the Premier League has undergone significant change recently.

“Nowadays, the Premier League and football in general are becoming more competitive. Every club has more clout and access to superior players. The game’s tempo has quickened, and there is more data. “The environment has always been pleasant in the Premier League, even though we now have social media, which can occasionally have a negative effect,” Azpilicueta was cited as saying on Chelsea’s official website.

“I’ve witnessed instances that should not have occurred, even in stadiums. I believe we live in a different society that feeds into football, but when you step up on the field and with the away fans, I believe it is the best atmosphere in the world to play football,” he continued.

Additionally, the 33-year-old talked openly about donning the captain’s armband while playing.

“Being the captain of Chelsea has a responsibility of course and I welcome it. “When I was appointed vice-captain in 2017 and then captain in 2018, I’d learned so much from so many players, captains and vice-captains, throughout my career,” he added.

“You’ve seen how they handle defeat and other situations. Sometimes you may not like how, but everyone has a distinct personality, and you must grow as a leader, as a captain, and strive to better every day,” he added.
