Chameleon Rodrygo scored the only goal and delighted by paying respect to Pele as Real Madrid advanced to the Spanish Cup last 16 with a 1-0 victory against fourth-tier Cacereno on Tuesday.

After 69 minutes, the Brazilian broke the tie by shooting the ball in after beating two defenders. He celebrated by jumping and putting his fist up in the air, just like Pele used to do when he scored goals.

The funeral for Pele was held in Brazil on Tuesday. He died last week at the age of 82.

Madrid played in their first Cup game in the round of 32. Coach Carlo Ancelotti sat out star players like Karim Benzema for the trip to the western Extremadura team, which had beaten top-tier Girona in the round before.

Valencia, Villarreal, and Espanyol also made it to the last 16 on Tuesday.

In the only top-flight matchup, Espanyol beat Celta Vigo 3-1 in extra time after the game ended 1-1 after regular time.

In a local match, Valencia beat La Nuca 3-0. Justin Kluivert scored the first goal after only three minutes.

FC Cartagena took an unexpected lead, but Villarreal came back and beat them 5-1. All of Villarreal’s goals came in the second half.
