Jessie Lemonier, a former linebacker for the Detroit Lions, died at the age of 25, according to the National Football League. (NFL).
Lemonier made his NFL debut in 2020 with the Los Angeles Chargers. He appeared in seven games for the Lions in 2021.
“We are shocked and saddened to learn of the death of former Detroit Lion Jessie Lemonier,” the Lions tweeted.

“Jessie was a fantastic young man and a role model teammate who passed away far too soon. His family and friends are in our hearts and prayers at this trying time.”
Lemonier was recently traded from the Houston Gamblers to the Birmingham Stallions of the United States Football League.
The Lions did not specify the cause of death.
Chargers defensive end Breiden Fehoko posted photos of himself and Lemonier on Twitter with the caption: “We came into the league together and had to fight our way through everything freshman year to get to where we are now. You were always full of life, bro. BRO, I adore you!”
