Gabriel Martinelli, a Brazilian attacker, has extended his contract with Arsenal, keeping him with the team at least through 2017.
In all competitions since signing from Brazilian team Ituano in the summer of 2019, the 21-year-old has made 111 appearances.
He has been a mainstay in the Premier League this year, scoring seven goals to help the Gunners increase their lead over the competition’s other teams by five points.

“Gabi is still extremely young, so we know he has a lot more to offer,” manager Mikel Arteta remarked. “Our supporters witness his talent and excitement every single time he puts on the shirt, and he’s the same every day in training, with his hard effort and great ideals.

Martinelli participated in eight games for Brazil’s Under-23 squad prior to making his senior debut in March 2022.
He accompanied the Brazil team on its trip to Qatar for the FIFA World Cup 2022, playing in two matches as the Selecao reached to the quarterfinals.
At the age of 16, Gabi made his debut for the Ituano team in Sao Paulo, where he also scored his first goal in September 2018.
He won Young Player of the Year honours at the Campeonato Paulista before signing with Arsenal in July 2019.
