Gareth Bale tied for 16th place at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am after having to leave the final round due to strong Californian winds.

Former Wales player and playing companion Joseph Bramlett ended on 16 under after 54 holes were eliminated from the amateur competition.

Aaron Rodgers, a former NFL player, and Ben Silverman, a Canadian professional, tied for first place among amateurs with scores of 26 under.

Despite having no competition, Bale had a good time.

“The previous few weeks have been incredible,” Bale stated. “People complimenting my game are fantastic; they have put a little too much strain on my shoulders!

“I am a passionate golf fan who admires what these golfers do on the course. It’s fun to connect with them and watch what they do.

“It’s incredible to watch him (Bramlett) strike a ball. The strength, the touch. He has been terrific, and more importantly, he is a great guy. I could not have asked for a better collaborator.”

Immediately following the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, Bale announced his retirement from football, it should be mentioned.

In Qatar in 2022, he guided Wales to its first World Cup appearance since 1958. He acted as the talisman for his country as they qualified for the 2016 and 2020 Euros.

Given his five Champions League titles with Real Madrid, Bale is undoubtedly the best footballer to have ever played for Wales.
