PFF making efforts for national men’s side to play friendlies

According to sources, the Pakistani football squad will most likely play international friendly in March of this year.

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), according to information, is working to arrange friendly for the men’s national team.

The national football regulatory body is in negotiations for matches with Bhutan, Thailand, and the Maldives. The discussions recently took place in conjunction with the conference of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

The games will probably take place in the final week of March, when there will be a window for international friendly.

Which team Pakistan will play in the friendlies against will be revealed in the coming days.

The national senior football team’s training camp will start on February 15 to kick off its preparation for a number of international competitions to be conducted this year, including the World Cup Qualifiers, according to normalisation committee head Haroon Malik.

Prior to FIFA lifting the PFF ban, Pakistan played its first international friendly match against Nepal.

But following a tense battle between the two teams at Kathmandu’s Dasharath Stadium, Pakistan suffered a 1-0 loss.

It is important to note that the members of the national squad are now competing for their different teams in the National Challenge Cup 2023.

In June of the previous year, FIFA agreed to suspend the PFF’s ban, which had been put in place in April 2021 as a result of excessive third-party intervention.

FIFA also gave the Normalization Committee (NC) an additional 12 months to complete its work.

FIFA states that the normalisation committee’s duties include overseeing the PFF’s daily operations, making sure Pakistani clubs are properly registered and inspected, drafting and approving an electoral code for the PFF with the help of FIFA and the AFC, organising district and provincial elections, and holding elections for a new PFF executive committee.
