PSL 2023:  In the ongoing Pakistan Super League, Karachi Kings have set Multan Sultans a target of 168 runs (PSL).

At one point, it appeared that Karachi would post a massive total, but the Multan bowlers bowled exceptionally well in the death overs to keep the game alive.

Anwar Ali sent England opener James Vince back to the pavilion after a brief cameo of 27 runs in 12 balls.

However, Matthew Wade and Tayyab Tahir put on an impressive hundred-run partnership for the second wicket, scoring 109 runs in 83 balls.

Ihsanullah, who had taken the most wickets in the competition, had Tahir caught in front of the stumps, but not before the former had amassed 65 runs in 46 balls. The right-hander confidently hit eight fours and a six during his innings.

Meanwhile, Wade, who struggled to get going and scored 46 runs in 47 balls, was cleaned up by Ihsanullah while attempting to play a lap shot.

Skipper Imad Wasim faced only six balls but made the most of them, scoring 14 runs with a four and a six.

Multan’s bowler of choice was Ihsanullah, who finished with figures of 2-22 in four overs.

Earlier, Multan Sultans won the toss and elected to bowl first against Karachi Kings at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season eight match.

Tayyab Tahir, a top-order batsman, and Tabraiz Shamsi, a South African spinner, are making their debuts for Karachi Kings.

In the meantime, Sultans have replaced Kieron Pollard and Mohammad Ilyas with spinner Akeal Hosein and all-rounder Anwar Ali.

The Karachi Kings are currently ranked fifth in the points table and are in desperate need of a victory to remain in the running for the final four. They have only had one victory in their first five games.

Multan, Karachi’s rivals, are currently leading the points standings with four victories in five games.
