Asif Ali, a middle-order batsman for Islamabad United, is on the verge of breaking Kamran Akmal’s PSL record for most sixes hit.

Ali is currently in third position with 79 sixes, while Akmal is currently at the top of the list with 89.

With 270 maximums in 233 matches, Ali averages more than one six per T20 innings. He has so far amassed 4220 runs in T20 cricket at a strike rate of 147.24, with a hundred and fourteen fifty-sevens.

The PSL 8 opening ceremony will take place in Multan on February 13 before the tournament’s first match between the defending champions Lahore Qalandars and the 2021 champion Multan Sultans; the closing ceremony and final will take place on March 19 in Lahore, which will also host play-offs.

On February 16 at Karachi, Islamabad will play their opening game against Karachi Kings. On February 19, the next day, Islamabad will play the Multan Sultans in Multan.

On February 23 at Karachi, Islamabad will play Peshawar Zalmi in the third round robin stage encounter. The following matchups between Islamabad and Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars will take place on February 24 and 27, respectively.

The following five games for Islamabad will be played in Rawalpindi, with one match against each of their opponents.

Lahore Qalandars will try to become the first team to win consecutive championships, while Islamabad will want to make history by winning the trophy three times.

Eleven games will be played in Rawalpindi, nine games each in Karachi and Lahore, and five games in Multan.
