Rashid Khan, the spin-wizard for Lahore Qalandars, praised his captain, Shaheen Shah Afridi, for being a supportive and fighting captain while leading his team in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Rashid Khan stated in an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan that the team’s environment is quite positive under Shaheen’s leadership.

“Shaheen is leading the team very well, the way he is managing everything, so as a bowler and a player, you feel relaxed after having a captain like him. He guides players to perfection and doesn’t get angry whenever a player feels down,” said Rashid.

He went on to say that Afridi’s calmness contrasted sharply with the previous year, and that the team’s younger players aren’t afraid to ask questions.

“Shaheen is playing a positive role, and one thing I like about him is that he is quite calm as compared to the previous year, and youngsters don’t hesitate to ask him anything,” he said.

The 24-year-old also discussed the Lahore Qalandars‘ trio-pace attack, which includes Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Zaman Khan, and stated that they have the mindset to turn the game upside down at any point during the game.

“It’s a huge pleasure to bowl with these fast bowlers. When you have bowlers like Shaheen and Haris, the pressure and responsibility automatically goes down. With our third bowler Zaman Khan, these three bowlers play a key role and take two-three wickets, so as a spinner, you feel pretty relaxed,” he said.

“Sometimes spin bowling concedes runs, but it’s okay as Shaheen and Haris also bowl in-death overs to put some pressure on the opponent team,” he concluded.
