Umar Gul, the bowling coach for Quetta Gladiators, is hopeful about his team’s chances of making a comeback in Pakistan Premier League (PSL) season 8.

After dropping four of their previous five games, the Gladiators’ chances of making the playoffs appear to be rather slim. To strengthen their position in the competition, they will strive to win their remaining games.

After his team was defeated by Islamabad United by 63 runs in Karachi on Friday, Gul told reporters that they still had a chance to win the match.

The former Test cricketer expressed his extreme disappointment at his team’s performance. “We are still very much in the competition, in my opinion. From here, we still have a 100% opportunity to recover “Said he.

At the moment, gladiators are ranked fourth on the points chart. On March 2, they will play host to the Lahore Qalandars.

Azam Khan, who made a significant difference between Quetta and Islamabad in the league’s thirteenth game, was commended by Gul. “Azam played exceptionally well and won the game for us. In all departments, we erred. I am aware that we could have done more, “Said he.

“Players have been informed that there are still five games left. We’ll compete in the tournament if we play to our strengths “He continued.

In the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi on Friday, Islamabad United defeated Quetta Gladiators by 63 runs in the 13th game of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). Azam Khan dominated.

Choosing to bat first, United set a lofty 221-run total before dismissing Gladiators for 157 in 19.1 overs, all thanks to Azam’s outstanding batting performance and the bowlers’ outstanding performance.

Gladiators struggled to get going in their response to the large total as they quickly lost wickets.

Mohammad Hafeez, a seasoned all-rounder, scored 48 runs off of just 26 balls to help the faltering Gladiators get back on their feet.

Hafeez’s innings resulted in a 69-run partnership for the fourth wicket with captain Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Gladiators suffered another loss as a result of wickets falling at regular intervals with the needed run rate became unattainable.
