Babar Azam, Pakistan’s all-round captain, explained the secret to his success in international cricket.

It would appear that Babar adheres to the maxim that “practice makes perfect.” The right-handed batter revealed in his most recent interview that he plays 500-600 balls daily.

“I believe that the only way to perform in the match is to put in a lot of hard practice. During my practice, I play between 500 and 600 balls daily. even doubles when I’m not playing well. I accept practice is so significant for anybody who needs to perform on the ground,” he shared.

Babar is without a doubt one of the best batters of today. His outstanding performance in 2022 earned him the ICC Cricketer of the Year award just recently.

The captain said it requires investment to address any issue in batting. ” Regardless of whether you perform, criticism is always present. He stated, “Everyone has their own opinion.”

“I think it takes some time to find any flaws in your batting. People want things to go right away, which is impossible,” added Babar, who is frequently criticized for his strike rate when batting.

Azam Siddique, Babar’s father, has contributed significantly to his son’s success. Azam was there for his son every step of the way, from when he was playing cricket as a kid to when he became captain of the national team.

“Because he doesn’t want me to take things for granted, my father rarely gives me his approval for my performance. He emphasized, “He always tries to give me some advice so that I can get better and better.”

He now occasionally gives me praise. But I think it’s good for you that your elders keep pointing you in the right direction and want more from you,” he said at the end.

In the current eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Babar currently ranks second in run scoring. In nine matches, he has scored 416 runs, including his first PSL century.
