After reaching the Champions League quarterfinals on Wednesday, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti claimed that his team possessed a great deal of self-assurance.

At the Santiago Bernabeu, the 14-time European champions defeated Liverpool 1-0 for a total of 6-2 to advance to the next round.

Ancelotti thinks that Madrid’s remarkable run to glory last season has given them a lot of confidence. Madrid want to win the Champions League for the sixth time in ten years.

Before defeating Liverpool in the championship game, Los Blancos staged stunning comebacks against Chelsea, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Even in the first-leg match of the last 16 against Jurgen Klopp’s Reds, Madrid trailed by two goals before roaring to a 5-2 victory.

Ancelotti told, “We have a lot more confidence, because of what happened last year, it gave us a lot of confidence,””We saw that in this tie, against a strong team, we did well in the two games.

“But later, with confidence alone, we don’t reach the semi-finals. We have to play surprising football … as always, the Champions League is very complicated and we have to compete until the end.”

Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, and Eduardo Camavinga, both young players, as well as veteran midfielders Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, performed admirably against Liverpool.

Ancelotti added, “The atmosphere is created by the players — the intelligence, humility and patience of the veterans,”
