Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah launched the first-ever Sindh Premier League (SPL).
Shah stated at the SPL launch ceremony in Karachi on Tuesday that the league will provide a great opportunity for Sindh cricketers.
“SPL is not just about sports, but also about promoting the talent and potential of our youth, providing them with opportunities to excel, and showcasing the best of what Sindh has to offer. It is also a platform for economic development, job creation, and tourism promotion in our province,” he said.
Dignitaries from various walks of life attended the launch event, including the provincial Minister of Information Sharjeel Inam Memon, Minister of Labour Saeed Ghani, Advisor Law Murtaza Murtaza Wahab, and former captain of Pakistan Sarfraz Ahmed.
On this occasion, SPL president Arif Malik emphasised that the league has a dedicated player development programme for players from the interior of Sindh. He also stated that the SPL will be broadcast in 52 countries and will create 10,000 jobs over the next few years.
Benazirabad Lals, Hyderabad Bahadurs, Karachi Ghazis, Larkana Challengers, Mirpurkhas Tigers, and Sukkur Patriots will compete in the league.
