Babar Azam's batting style in PSL 2023 left Simon Doull unsatisfied. Doull...
Babar Azam, the team’s regular captain, and other key players were rested by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) during the T20I series against Afghanistan.
The PCB announced an inexperienced squad for a three-match T20I series against Afghanistan that is scheduled for the end of March in Sharjah, keeping in mind the national team’s busy schedule for this year.
Rest has been provided for Babar, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, and Mohammad Rizwan. Shadab Khan, an all-rounder, will serve as captain of Pakistan’s team against Afghanistan in the white-ball format.
Fans and active cricketer Ahmad Shahzad, along with former players Shahid Afridi and Umar Gul, praised PCB for implementing a rotation policy.
“Congratulations to @76Shadabkhan on being selected as the captain for the Pak vs Afg series! A wise decision by PCB to rest senior players and give talented young leaders like Shadab a chance to shine. Excited to see him prove himself on the field! #ShadabKhan #PCB #PakVsAfg“

A wise decision by the @TheRealPCB to announce @76Shadabkhan as the captain and rest the senior players to avoid overload. It will give a chance to the youngsters on international level who performed during the PSL. #PakvsAfg

Another brave and bold decision taken by PCB – entrusting the youth and street smart @76Shadabkhan brings to Captaincy along with giving opportunities to Abrar, Osama, Ihsanullah. Zabardast! And best of luck to my Pakistan team always!
