PCB:  Saad Baig and Imran Butt will lead the Pakistan U-19 and Pakistan Shaheens teams, respectively, on their forthcoming tours of Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, according to appointments made by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Saad, a native of Karachi, led Pakistan’s U-19 team against Bangladesh’s U-19 team at Multan last year. Saad had scored 117 runs in the four-day match, 30 runs in the one-day games, and 107 runs in the T20s during that series. The left-hander scored 200 runs in the National U19 three-day Championship 2022–2023 and 299 runs in four games of the National U19 one–day Cup 2022–2023 respectively.

Faisalabad’s Ali Asfand has previously played against Bangladesh in the U19 series. In the four-day match, he scored 45 runs and claimed two wickets with his left-arm spinner. In the one-day matches, he scored 26 runs and claimed two wickets. In the lone T20, he claimed three wickets. Ali scored 73 runs and claimed 18 wickets in the National U19 three-day Championship 2022–23, and he added 77 runs and 11 wickets in the National U19 one-day Cup 2022–23.

For the Bangladesh-bound team, only individuals born on or after September 1, 2004, were eligible for selection.

There are seven players on the Pakistan Shaheens for the tour of Zimbabwe who have played for Pakistan in international cricket. Six Tests have been played by Imran Butt, who has been selected captain. The other players are Hussain Talat (one ODI, 18 T20Is), Aamir Jamal (two T20Is), Kamran Ghulam (one ODI), Mir Hamza (three Tests), Sahibzada Farhan (three T20Is), and Shahnawaz Dahani (two ODIs and 11 T20Is).

Two Quetta players have never before been chosen for a national team. They are Abdul Wahid Bangalzai and Haseebullah, while Mehran Mumtaz, Mohammad Huraira, Mubasir Khan, Qasim Akram, and Rohail Nazir are players who have graduated from the U19 pathways cricket and are also on the team.
