Mohammad Rizwan has reclaimed the top spot on the list of most runs in Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8.

During Eliminator 2, Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam deposed Rizwan by scoring his 37th run of the game. Rizwan had 516 runs, while Babar had 517 runs to become the highest run-scorer. Babar scored 42 points in 36 balls overall.

Multan had scored 61-1 in 5.3 overs while chasing a mammoth 201-run target when this story was filed.

Lahore’s captain Shaheen Shah Afridi played an exceptional knock to help his team keep title-defense hopes alive. Shaheen scored 44 points off 15 balls and also formed a match-winning partnership with Abdullah Shafique. They scored 66 runs in 27 balls to help Lahore set a daunting target of 201 runs for Multan.

Aside from Shaheen, Abdullah also played a good knock. He hit eight boundaries and two maximums in 65 runs off 40 balls.

After a quick start in which Lahore scored 34 runs in the first three overs, opener Tahir Baig was dismissed with a sharp short ball by Ihsanullah. In 18 balls, the right-hander scored 30 runs.

Multan were able to stem the flow of runs thanks to the wicket and some good bowling as Lahore reached 82-1 at the halfway point.

Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique added 57 runs in 38 balls for the second wicket, but just as they were about to accelerate their scoring, Multan shattered their plans with four quick wickets.
