Kylian Mbappe appeared destined to join Real Madrid less than a year earlier. So much so that when the two teams met in the UEFA Champions League last season, PSG’s star was applauded by fans at Santiago Bernabeu. However, the Frenchman did the unexpected and extended his contract.

Real Madrid suffered a severe setback after that because it appeared that they would sign the world’s best player as a free agent. And, after the way the transfer saga ended, many Los Blancos fans never wanted to see the club linked with Mbappe again.

Nevertheless, Mbappe has continued to deliver at a world-class level over the course of the months and, at the age of just 24, recently broke the record for most goals scored by a PSG player. Real Madrid, on the other hand, has had trouble maintaining consistency.

Additionally, it appears that Mbappe only agreed to a two-year extension with PSG, with an additional year’s option. As a result, rumours about him joining Real Madrid are circulating once more.
