Australia’s Twenty20 International team, which is presently in India for a five-match series that the home team is leading 2-0, has undergone adjustments.

With Steve Smith and Adam Zampa gone, the players from the World Cup-winning team will return home.

On Wednesday (November 29), players like Josh Inglis, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, and Sean Abbott will be back.

Cricket Australia has announced the addition of Josh Phillippe, Ben McDermott, Ben Dwarshuis, and Chris Green as reinforcements.

Captain of the Test and ODI team Pat Cummins expressed sympathy for his countrymen who supported him during the historic World Cup victory and stated that a bilateral series is an excellent opportunity to put young players to the test.

“It’s been a busy few months,” he said during an event at the SCG to present the World Cup trophy. “It’s still games for Australia and think it’s great these tours do provide opportunity for younger guys or guys who might not be in your first XI.

“Think they are still important tours where you’ll get a lot out of it but they’re humans, not robots, so putting everything into a World Cup then playing a couple of days later probably don’t begrudge them not being 100%.”

Australia is now down 2-0 in the five-match series, despite Suryakumar Yadav’s team playing some excellent cricket in both games, particularly with the bat. An impressive statement is being made by India’s youthful core in front of the 2024 T20 World Cup.
