The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the nominees for the Men’s Player of the Month Award for November 2024 on Thursday, with Pakistan’s Haris Rauf making the cut.

Rauf faces strong competition from India’s Jasprit Bumrah and South Africa’s Marco Jansen, who both played pivotal roles in their teams’ victories during the month.

The 31-year-old pacer was a key figure in Pakistan’s historic ODI series win against Australia, marking their first victory in 22 years. Rauf finished as the series’ top wicket-taker with 10 wickets, maintaining an impressive economy rate of 5. He played a crucial part in Pakistan’s 2-1 series win.

Rauf’s fine form continued in the T20I series, where he claimed five wickets, including a remarkable four-wicket haul in the second match. He ended November with three more wickets in ODIs against Australia, bringing his total to 18 dismissals across all formats.

Marco Jansen impressed with both bat and ball throughout November. In the T20I series against India, Jansen took a wicket in each of the first three matches and shone with the bat, scoring a blistering 54 off 17 balls in the third T20I.

He also played a standout role in the first Test against Sri Lanka, taking career-best match figures of 11/86, which included a seven-wicket haul in the first innings to bowl Sri Lanka out for just 42 – the second-lowest total in Test history in the 21st century.

India’s Jasprit Bumrah, captaining the opening Border-Gavaskar series Test, reaffirmed his elite status with a match-winning performance. His eight-wicket haul in Perth (5/30 and 3/42) was instrumental in India’s dominant 295-run victory.

Bumrah dismantled Australia’s top order, taking three wickets in the first seven overs and finishing with 5/30, before claiming three more wickets in the fourth innings to seal the win, earning him the Player of the Match award.
