Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf has been nominated for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s Player of the Month Award for November 2024.
He faces tough competition from India’s Jasprit Bumrah and South Africa’s Marco Jansen, both of whom also produced exceptional performances for their respective teams.
Rauf’s standout achievement was playing a key role in Pakistan’s historic ODI series win against Australia, marking the first such victory in 22 years.
The 31-year-old pacer finished the series as the top wicket-taker with 10 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 5. His efforts helped Pakistan secure a 2-1 series win.
Rauf’s excellent form continued into the T20I series against Australia, where he took five wickets, including a remarkable four-wicket haul in the second T20I.
In his final outing of the month, he claimed three more wickets in ODIs against Australia, bringing his total to 18 wickets across all formats for November.
South Africa’s Marco Jansen also impressed with his all-round performances. He played a crucial role in the T20I series against India, contributing with both bat and ball.
His highlight was a blistering 17-ball 54 in the third T20I. Jansen’s best performance came in the first Test against Sri Lanka, where he took career-best match figures of 11/86.
India’s Jasprit Bumrah reaffirmed his status as one of cricket’s greats with a match-winning eight-wicket haul in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. His brilliant 5/30 and 3/42 in the opening Test were pivotal in India’s dominant 295-run victory.
The final winner will be announced soon, but Rauf’s contributions have certainly made him a strong contender for the award.
