Karachi, Pakistan, will be the host city for the inaugural WSF U23 World Squash Championship in 2025. The competition, organized by the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), is scheduled to take place from April 6-10, 2025. It will feature both men’s and women’s singles events, with 32 players in each championship draw.
Each National Federation can send a maximum of two players to compete, and participants will have the chance to share a $60,000 USD prize pool, as well as earn PSA ranking points.
William Louis-Marie, CEO of the World Squash Federation (WSF), praised the event, saying it would provide an excellent platform for emerging players worldwide to test their skills against top competitors. He also noted that the championship would serve as an important bridge between the WSF World Junior Championships and senior-level events.
Louis-Marie thanked President Zaheer Ahmad Babar and the PSF team for their enthusiasm in hosting the championship and highlighted Karachi’s significance as the venue, given Pakistan’s rich squash history, with legends like Jahangir Khan emerging from the country.
Kazim Hammad, Senior Vice President of PSF, described the championship as a significant step forward, stating it would inspire young players to continue pursuing their training and contribute to the growth of squash talent. He commended the support from the Vice President of Pakistan Squash and President of Sindh Squash for their sponsorship and efforts in bringing the event to Karachi.
Zaheer Ahmad Babar, President of PSF, expressed his appreciation for the PSF team’s dedication and assured full support from Pakistan Squash and Sind Squash in making the event a success. He emphasized that Pakistan Squash will continue hosting major events with the goal of positioning the country as a future hub for squash championships.
