Pakistan’s Test team is set to assemble in Dubai before traveling to Johannesburg for a two-match Test series against South Africa. Players will depart from Karachi and Lahore, gathering in Dubai before heading to South Africa.
Several key players, including Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha, and Saim Ayub, are already in South Africa due to ongoing white-ball commitments and will transition to Test cricket soon.
Naseem Shah, Kamran Ghulam, and Abdullah Shafique, who are part of both squads, will also join the camp ahead of the series.
The squad includes Shan Masood, Saud Shakeel, Khurram Shehzad, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Abbas, Aamir Jamal, Haseebullah, and Noman Ali, among others. Red-ball head coach Jason Gillespie is scheduled to arrive in South Africa to oversee the team’s preparations.
Pakistan currently ranks seventh in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) standings with 40 points from 10 matches. Meanwhile, South Africa tops the table with 76 points and a win percentage of 63.33%, edging closer to securing a WTC final spot.
