West Indies cruised to a dominant seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh, claiming their first bilateral ODI series win against the visitors in 10 years.

The win was powered by a remarkable bowling performance from Jayden Seales, who took 4 wickets for just 22 runs, helping his team bowl Bangladesh out for 227. West Indies then comfortably chased down the target with 13.1 overs to spare.

Opting to bowl first in St. Kitts, the West Indies’ decision proved to be a masterstroke as Seales struck early. In his opening spell, Seales sent Soumya Sarkar, Litton Das, and captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz back to the pavilion cheaply during the powerplay.

Despite a counterattack from Tanzid Hasan, who scored a rapid 46 off 33 balls, Bangladesh was in trouble at 64/4 in the 11th over.

A brief recovery came from Mahmudullah and Afif Hossain, who added 36 runs, but West Indies spinners, led by Gudakesh Motie, continued to dominate.

Motie claimed two crucial wickets, leaving Bangladesh at 104/6 in the 21st over. Mahmudullah and Tanzim Hasan Sakib then fought back with a gritty 92-run partnership for the eighth wicket, taking Bangladesh past 200.

However, Roston Chase dismissed Sakib for 45, and Seales returned to bowl out Mahmudullah for 53, leaving Bangladesh all out for 227 in 46 overs.

In reply, West Indies made a strong start with Brandon King and Evin Lewis putting on 109 for the first wicket. King played aggressively, while Lewis struggled initially but found his rhythm with some boundaries.

Lewis’ knock included a flurry of boundaries, including three in an over from Sakib. He was dismissed for 49, but King, who had scored a 52-ball fifty, continued his solid innings.

King anchored the chase, while Keacy Carty added 66 runs with him before falling for 45 off 47 balls. With just 31 runs needed, Sherfane Rutherford sealed the victory with a quick-fire 24 off 15 balls, including two sixes and a four. West Indies reached 228/3, completing the chase and the series win with over 13 overs to spare.
