Pakistan team arrives in Karachi for tri-nation series match against South Africa
KARACHI: Pakistan’s white-ball captain Mohammad Rizwan and his team arrived in Karachi on Sunday ahead of their crucial second match in the tri-nation series against South Africa. The fixture is set to take place at the newly renovated National Bank Stadium on Wednesday.
As per reports, the Men in Green will hold a three-hour practice session at the venue on Monday afternoon to prepare for the must-win encounter.
Pakistan suffered a setback in their opening match of the series, losing to New Zealand by 78 runs at Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday. Batting first, New Zealand posted a formidable total of 330/6, thanks to Glenn Phillips’ explosive century and fifties from Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell.
In response, Pakistan started well with a 52-run opening stand between Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam. However, despite Fakhar’s resilient knock, Pakistan faltered in the chase and were bowled out for 252 in 47.5 overs.
