PSL 2021 Drafting: Quetta Gladiators Has Chris Gayle This Year

The drafting of players for Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 has started under which former champion Quetta Gladiators has acquired famous West Indies batsman Chris Gayle.

Drafting of players is underway in Lahore and the management of PSL teams is fully prepared for the acquisition of players.

Islamabad United acquired Hassan Ali through a wild card while he had previously been part of Peshawar Zalmi.

Multan Sultans selected Chris Lynn in the Platinum category and Lahore Qalandars selected Rashid Khan.

Quetta Gladiators won West Indies star Chris Gayle and Usman Shinwari in the gold category.

It is to be noted that PSL 2021 will start on February 20 for which all the teams had announced the retaining players yesterday.

Defending champions Karachi Kings have retained Babar Azam, Mohammad Amir and Colin Ingram in the Platinum category, while captain Imad Wasim in Diamond, Amir Yameen in Gold, Sharjeel Khan, Waqas Maqsood in Silver and Arshad Iqbal in Emerging.

The Lahore Qalandars, who lost in the final of the last event, retained Muhammad Hafeez, Shaheen Shah Afridi in Platinum, Fakhr Zaman in Diamond, David Wiese, Haris Rauf, Ben Dunk and Dilbar Hussain in Gold while captain Sohail Akhtar remained in the Silver category.

The Multan Sultans include Shahid Afridi and Rilee Rossouw in the Platinum category, while Sohail Tanveer, Imran Tahir and Khushdil Shah got a place in the Diamond and James Vince, Shan Masood and Usman Qadir made it to the Gold category.

2017 champion Peshawar Zalmi has retained five players in the squad, including Wahab Riaz and Shoaib Malik in Platinum, Kamran Akmal in Diamond and Liam Livingstone and Haider Ali in Gold.

Quetta Gladiators retained captain Sarfraz Ahmed in platinum category, Ben Cutting, Mohammad Hasnain and Mohammad Nawaz in diamond, Azam Khan and Naseem Shah in gold and Zahid Mahmood and Anwar Ali in silver.

Islamabad United’s Platinum category includes Shadab Khan, Alex Hales, Colin Munro, Fahim Ashraf in Diamond, Hussain Talat, Asif Ali in Gold and Musa Khan and Zafar Gohar in Silver.

Prior to the drafting process, the only swapping held between Karachi Kings and Islamabad United was in which Alex Hales went to Islamabad and Colin Ingram to Karachi Kings.
