Shaheen Afridi, a Pakistani pace bowler, made some hard deliveries during training session on Sunday at the National Bank Cricket Arena.

Afridi has been training with the Pakistan One-Day International team, which is preparing for the series against New Zealand.

He is currently out of the Pakistan squad while recovering from a knee injury sustained in the T20 World Cup 2022 final against England on November 13.

“I’m excited to be bowling and back on the field,” Shaheen said.

“The rehabilitation is going extremely well. “The physiotherapist has worked extremely hard on me,” he added.

The left-armer also revealed that he is gradually increasing his weekly overs bowled.

“I’m feeling better than I did at the T20 World Cup. “I bowled 19 overs this week and plan to bowl 25 next week,” he said.

The lanky pacer is also looking forward to the start of the Pakistan Super League next month.

“I’m looking forward to PSL. Lahore Qalandars have a stronger team than last season, and we are confident of putting on a good performance on the field,” he concluded.

Shaheen’s return to international cricket will be contingent on his successful completion of the rehabilitation programme and approval from the medical staff.
