Powerful 5.3-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Eastern Turkey Today

An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 has shaken Eastern Turkey on Sunday morning.  According to the latest updates by the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), an earthquake has occurred in eastern Turkey at a depth of 2 km (1.2 miles), with the epicenter located 10 kilometers from the city of Sivrice. EMSC initially reported the magnitude as 6.4, but later cleared the information.
