WhatsApp on evening of Sunday faced a global outage in India and other parts of the world. The services resumed after roughly three hours of an outage.

“Earlier today, some people may have experienced trouble sending and receiving files on WhatsApp.. The issue has since been resolved, we are back to 100% for everyone and we’re sorry for any inconvenience,” said a Facebook spokesperson.

According to the details, Services resumed after roughly three hours of an outage. WhatsApp users reported they were unable to share multimedia including photos, videos, GIFs, and stickers on the instant messaging platform.

WhatsApp’s Status was also not functioning properly as users were unable to view contacts’ videos and photos in the section.

Although #WhatsAppDown is trending on Twitter worldwide and also in South Africa, the chat service is still functional for us down in Cape Town.

It’s not yet clear that why WhatsApp is experiencing issues on Sunday but the issue was later resolved and WhatsApp is working normal now.
